Forward Facing Camera

The Forward FacingCamera helps determine the cars position within lanes and activates lane departure warnings, or in some cases, lane keep assist, which will actively steer the car to maintain lane position. This system can be affected by weather or sunlight conditions.

When to Calibrate Forward Facing Camera

  • Camera and/or windshield is removed or replaced
  • Camera module removed from bracket
  • There are lane departure warning system behavior concerns

Adaptive Cruise Control

The adaptive cruise control is located on the front end of the vehicle and is designed to work in tandem with the pre-collision system in front of to determine the distance between vehicles/objects and safely slow or stop the vehicle when approaching too close.

When to Calibrate Adaptive Cruise Control

  • Sensor and/or bracket are removed and inspected or replaced
  • Front end structural repairs are performed

Anti-Lock Braking System

Designed to detect and handle adverse road/stopping conditions, the Anti-Lock Braking System is an important part of stopping a vehicle safely. Sensors designated to each wheel take readings and apply brake pressure in quick Burts to prevent skidding or brake lock.

When to Initialize Anti-Lock Brake System

  • Anti-Lock Brake System is replaced
  • Hydraulic control unit is replaced
  • Integrated control unit is replaced
  • Occupant Restraint Control is replaced
  • Steering control module is replaced
  • Steering Angle Sensor is replaced

Occupant Restraint Controller

Occupant Restraint Controller is tasked with detecting an occupant and activating the supplemental restraint system (SRS) in case of a collision. Controlled via seat weight sensors and sensor in the seat belt buckle, it is important to examine this system when replacing seat components.

When to Calibrate Occupant Restraint Controller

  • Any component of the Occupant Restraint Controller is replaced
